LOVE'S MUSIC, by EDWIN J. REBMAN First Line: Some musics break against the heart more still Last Line: And, kissing me, burn, burn and burn and burn. Subject(s): Love - Nature Of | ||||||||
Some musics break against the heart more still Than inborn silences upon the soul, More calm than clouds that gradually pile and roll And crumble quietly against some hill. Some musics storm upon the heart until, Enraptured in the tempest where the whole Of Life lies naked to their storm, the goal Of life is to embrace, to be, their thrill. Such is my love: -- with comfort of warm lights Upon mahogany, soft rugs, frail lace; And close full dark of heightened sweeping nights With having warm between my hands your face To kiss; feel, trembling 'gainst my breast, you turn And, kissing me, burn, burn and burn and burn. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...RESCUE THE DEAD by DAVID IGNATOW BUTTERFLIES UNDER PERSIMMON by MARK JARMAN CHAMBER MUSIC: 27 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 28 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 30 by JAMES JOYCE HE WHO KNOWS LOVE by ELSA BARKER LOVE'S HUMBLENESS by ELSA BARKER SONG (IN THE LUCKY CHANCE) by APHRA BEHN FIRELIGHT by KATHERINE MANSFIELD |
