TO YOU, by LEXIE DEAN ROBERTSON Poet's Biography First Line: My thoughts are little boats Last Line: It is my thought of you. Subject(s): Absence; Memory; Romance; Seashore; Separation; Isolation; Beach; Coast; Shore | ||||||||
MY thoughts are little boats That sail about upon the sea of my dreams: Tug boats, straining and pulling, A loaded raft, a dory; All inextricably confused. Barges and scows, And sometimes a canoe in a clear space. Suddenly from the confusion emerges a beautiful skiff. Its sails are white and gleaming in the brightness. It skims across the waves with the grace of a sea gull. It is my thought of you. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SEASHORE by JOHN FREDERICK NIMS EASTERN LONG ISLAND by MARVIN BELL THE WIND IS BLOWING WEST by JOSEPH CERAVOLO IF SOMETHING SHOULD HAPPEN by LUCILLE CLIFTON THE MISSISSIPPI RIVER EMPTIES INTO THE GULF by LUCILLE CLIFTON GEOGRAPHY AS WARNING by MADELINE DEFREES POWER FAILURE by MADELINE DEFREES A CHANT OF MY BELOVED by LEXIE DEAN ROBERTSON |
