TO THE LAND OF MILK AND HONEY, by KENNETH ROSEN First Line: Enjoy yourselves,' said moses Subject(s): Israel | ||||||||
"Enjoy yourselves," said Moses, Crippled in the legs, propped atop Mount Pisgah For a view of the Promised Land: "I want to use what's left of me to understand Myself." The Jews trooped ahead, And he lagged behind. Likewise the foot-dragger In "The Pied Piper." The kid Wasn't lame: he preferred the clarity of loneliness To the delirium of Paradise, and so Do I, so do I. Given the way I behave, it's all I can think. The eye, like a ruby Echo in a cave, can only see itself when closed. People feel slapped in the face By fate as if it wasn't what they chose. So do I.
