BEYOND OUR BREATHING, by CAROL RULOFSON First Line: Across the threshold of our garden path Last Line: That peace which is the earnest of god's will. Subject(s): Faith; Future Life; Belief; Creed; Retribution; Eternity; After Life | ||||||||
Across the threshold of our garden path There lies a world quite new -- yet more than old, For time is left behind. The scent is bold Of fruit and flower, but comes an aftermath Whose fragrance is pure lingering joy, that hath A light ethereal -- something to unfold Which draws us to a world we cannot hold By might, or main, or sheer desire in wrath. The senses lose their power to captivate, Beyond our breathing there is living still, But effortless and free. This is the state Of true reality, where souls may fill Themselves with greatness -- once again create That peace which is the earnest of God's will. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...IKON: THE HARROWING OF HELL by DENISE LEVERTOV LEEK STREET by LAURE-ANNE BOSSELAAR UNABLE TO FIND by LAURE-ANNE BOSSELAAR THE AFTERLIFE: LETTER TO STEPHEN DOBYNS 3 by HAYDEN CARRUTH THE AFTERLIFE: LETTER TO STEPHEN DOBYNS: 1 by HAYDEN CARRUTH THE AFTERLIFE: LETTER TO STEPHEN DOBYNS: 2 by HAYDEN CARRUTH WRITING IN THE AFTERLIFE by BILLY COLLINS JEWELED HOURS by CAROL RULOFSON |
