CHINESE POOL OF THE MOON (NEAR FORGOTTEN ARHAN), by KATHERINE SHUMARD SANDERS First Line: The moon on the pool is silver Last Line: In a low and eerie croon. Subject(s): Lakes; Pools; Ponds | ||||||||
The moon on the Pool is silver, The lilies are whiter than pearls, And the marge has an opal glimmer From the skirts of the Yen-Lee girls. But the Pool will hold the shadow Of the cranes whose plumes are snow, And the colder flame of the herons When the throb of the dance will go. Then the mists will slowly gather Veiling the Pool from the moon Till soft in her dream of silence Her waters will sound a rune Of dim old Arnhan beauty That only knows the loon And the sea-mew's lonely whirring In a low and eerie croon. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A MAN GETS OFF WORK EARLY by THOMAS LUX THE FRIARY AT BLOSSOM, PROLOGUE & INSTRUCTIONS by NORMAN DUBIE SONGS FOR TWO SEASONS: 2.
