THE BENEFACTOR, by
First Line: And when the travellers by night
Last Line: The river that between them flows.
Alternate Author Name(s): Ibn Sara; Ibn Sarah

And when the travellers by night
Began his praises to recite,
And through the dusty desert spread
The scent of musk beneath his tread,

I knew from that fair eulogy
How fair is his philanthropy,
As green and verdant banks disclose
The river that between them flows.
