WHEN SPRING IS HERE, by ROSE MOSS SCOTT First Line: Not boys flying home-made kites Last Line: Tell me it is spring. Subject(s): Spring | ||||||||
Not boys flying home-made kites With a ball of string, Or whistles they have whittled Tell me it is spring. Not girls on roller skates Rushing through the cold, Not the early robin's call As in springs of old. But two old men passing by, Each with bait and hook, Talking, smiling as they go To a singing brook. Not the girls on roller skates, Nor boys with kite and string, But old men going fishing Tell me it is spring. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD |
