O WONDER-WORD! That throbs and thrills
Through heart of man and ever fills
The universe with endless song
Echoing from angelic throng!
Its magic quiets human pain;
It bids the hopeless hope again;
It stills the helpless infant's cry,
Gives strength to live; gives faith to die.
First friend of joy! Last at the cross!
Joy of our gain! Comfort for loss!
The peaceful gift--to earth-born given;
Love of the Heart, of Home, of Heaven!
