O WONDER-WORD! That throbs and thrills Through heart of man and ever fills The universe with endless song Echoing from angelic throng! Its magic quiets human pain; It bids the hopeless hope again; It stills the helpless infant's cry, Gives strength to live; gives faith to die. First friend of joy! Last at the cross! Joy of our gain! Comfort for loss! The peaceful gift--to earth-born given; Love of the Heart, of Home, of Heaven! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MY MOTHER'S HANDS by ANDREW HUDGINS CONTINENT'S END by ROBINSON JEFFERS IN THE 25TH YEAR OF MY MOTHER'S DEATH by JUDY JORDAN THE PAIDLIN' WEAN by ALEXANDER ANDERSON BLASTING FROM HEAVEN by PHILIP LEVINE |
