THE DAISY WHITE, by
Last Line: To take us back to childhood's hour.
Subject(s): Daisies; Flowers

"O daisy white, your secret tell!
He loves me not -- he loves me well!"
Thus played the children long ago
In meadows white with summer snow.

Though daisies fade, though petals fall,
In loving thought we hold them all.
The daisies white in clusters lie
Beneath the canopy of sky.

The daisies white are symbols bright
Of laughter, music, love and light.
Although they fade at close of day
They tell of love that lives for aye.

We guard the dream of daisies well.
They keep for us their early spell;
For daisies white still have the power
To take us back to childhood's hour.
