SICK-THOUGHTED VENUS SOLILOQUIZES, by L. J. STANTON First Line: To think / the churl should prove to be Last Line: To think! Subject(s): Housewives | ||||||||
To think the churl should prove to be a stickler for propriety! I must kneel, a choir must sing, I must wear a golden ring I must always wear the thing. To think the lout should lecture me my sinful lack of chastity! I must sew with holy thread, I must cook and make his bed ... Rather to revel with satyrs instead! To think tomorrow, he intends to hunt the wily boar with friends! I little care ... I little reck! I hope he breaks his pious neck!
