Subject(s): Home

I love my little house with its broad gallery,
Where dewy breezes flit, soft, caressingly.
The high-ceilinged rooms, so virginal white,
Bathed in warm benediction of morn's rosy light.

And when night's purple shadows embrace, instead,
Like a tired happy child, it goes sleepy to bed.
For all the day long such sweet secrets it tells
That I am greatly bewitched, and live under its spell.

As a Rock of Gibraltar in the scheme of my life,
It holds me securely 'gainst outer-world strife;
A dear little house brimming over with cheer.
Unpretentious? Perhaps -- but Love lives here!
