CAMINO HERMOSO, by ELSA THUESEN First Line: Black midnight pierced with stars Last Line: Back to me. | |||
Black midnight pierced with stars; Oaks, moss laden; Pale brittle grass And a weakened wind on its Forgotten way. Night hours roll silently and I sift the dry earth through My fingers. Owls on the telephone wires; And from the upper hill, I hear the cowbell tinkling Back to me. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MOUNTAIN INSOMNIA by ELSA THUESEN OLD TRAILS by EDWIN ARLINGTON ROBINSON ON THE BIRTH OF A CHILD by LOUIS UNTERMEYER TO A WATERFOWL by WILLIAM CULLEN BRYANT SOULS LAKE by ROBERT STUART FITZGERALD WINTERTIME by ROBERT LOUIS STEVENSON INDIFFERENCE by GEOFFREY ANKETELL STUDDERT-KENNEDY WOO NOT THE WORLD by MUHAMMAD AL-MU'TAMID II |
