RESURRECTION, by                     Poet's Biography
First Line: When one had gone away
Last Line: Dear god, I saw her smile!
Subject(s): Flowers

WHEN one had gone away
To join the quiet dead,
Bleak, bleak for me the day,
And dark the clouds o'erhead.
"Her voice I shall not hear again,
Nor see her smile," I said.

Yet when the Spring winds came
The sad earth to beguile,
I heard one call my name
Whose voice was lost erewhile;
And when the early violets blew,
Dear God, I saw her smile!
