I WILL COME BACK, by HARRY R. TRUSLER First Line: I will come back from dark and silent places Last Line: Spring is eternal though all aprils die. | |||
I will come back from dark and silent places, From lifeless days laid waste by love and hate, Unto the joy of rapture-lighted faces -- I will come back, although it may be late. Up to the door of life my feet will falter, My heart grow vocal with the urge of song, And I will kindle bright on beauty's altar And feed with music dreams I would prolong. So I will live, if living is believing The miracle that blossoms out of pain, Spring's fatal glory in the blood, deceiving The heart to count its tragedies as gain. One granite truth will all the years defy: Spring is eternal though all Aprils die. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...BRIGHT SINGING WORDS by HARRY R.
