Shadows interlaced the walk Worn smooth like an old stone floor: Starlings nested at its eaves; Dog-wood came up to the door. Peace peered out from quaint windows High-set in a blank gray wall: Moss-stained shingles marked the space Morning shade fell from the tall Oaks; their fluid tops wind-blown On the morning sky like smoke: Echoes of a lost dismay -- Outlines broke again, and broke.
