SPRING IN THE ARIZONA DESERT, by GRACE HOFFMAN WHITE First Line: A tempest of rain Last Line: On the desert. Subject(s): Arizona; Deserts; Food & Eating; Spring | ||||||||
A tempest of rain Has wakened the heart of the desert. The giant Sahuaro is crowned With white flowers; It has filled its arms with them. Pastels of dawn Glide from the mountains And the grey Cholla is a tree of pink coral. While the slender stems of the Ocotillo Kindle into small flames. The Great Spirit smiles On the desert. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD TO AN EARLY DAFFODIL; SONNET by AMY LOWELL |
