For ho! I have come to you, God of the woods, Through the park's green calm. My soul rests again in Thee. I am restored once more to Thy tranquility. Thy breezes blow again through me; Thy silence penetrates the reaches of my soul, And my inner ear hears Thy silent song: "Come unto me, my children, For of such is the kingdom of heaven." Aye, for such is the realm of peace, Wherein one finds one's own A harmonious reckoning with nature. Now shall I return once again to life, And see and fill my place which Thou hast made for me. When shall I live in Thee among Thy peoples? My soul longs for this calm Which I lose when I am among men. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A COTTAGE IN THE MIDST' by KENNETH REXROTH STILL ON WATER by KENNETH REXROTH THE LOVE POEMS OF MARICHIKO: 6 by KENNETH REXROTH REVELATION by LOUIS UNTERMEYER TO A FRIEND by JOHN GARDINER CALKINS BRAINARD PAX BRITANNICA by ALFRED AUSTIN |
