THE SONG OF NATIONS, by CATHERINE WILEY First Line: Wherever nations come together Last Line: Nations rise as one in glory. Subject(s): Nations | ||||||||
Wherever nations come together, With a friendship now so rare, Blessed be the place forever And what was transacted there. Knots of friendship not to sever, Stronger than the strongest metal Arms and troops of friends will never Serve disputes and hate to settle. The greatest thing the earth has known Is freedom from the raging flood, Where the seeds of hate have sown And reaped in the form of the shed of blood. All the hidden love release And tell the world its mighty story. Ever for the cause of peace, Nations rise as one in glory. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...NECESSARY AND IMPOSSIBLE by HENRI COLE DOUBLE DUTCH by MADELINE DEFREES THE DESIRE OF NATIONS by EDWIN MARKHAM DOMESDAY BOOK: THE HOUSE THAT JACK BUILT by EDGAR LEE MASTERS ELEONORA; A PANEGYRICAL POEM by JOHN DRYDEN ON THE DANGER OF WAR by GEORGE MEREDITH PEACE GUARANTEED by MARY J.
