OF THOSE WHO PENETRATE INVISIBLE DUSKS, by FRANCHEN HAUSER WILLIAMS First Line: Let no regret or stab of blinding pain Last Line: While we are struggling upward toward their goal. | |||
Let no regret or stab of blinding pain Come with their memory today, for peace And rest have come at last. This is their gain And just reward for service. Their release Is like the sudden freedom of a bird That loved the sun-lit cage, yet longed for flight Through invisible dusks where songs unheard Re-echo with sweet tones for their delight. Behind the steel blue sky, stenciled with stars, No earthly sorrows ever penetrate To pierce the shields of veiled mists or bronzed bars And bring them grief; and we below who wait Shall strive to wear the armor of their soul While we are struggling upward toward their goal. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...ASTROPHEL AND STELLA: 49 by PHILIP SIDNEY COLIN CLOUTS COME HOME AGAIN by EDMUND SPENSER THE ROSEBUSH AND THE TRINITY by ALFRED BARRETT THE LAST MAN: ROSILY DYING by THOMAS LOVELL BEDDOES ISAIAH: PERFECT PEACE by OLD TESTAMENT BIBLE A SONG OF THE ROAD by FRED G.
