TWO HULAS: LOVE SONG, by WALKER WINSLOW First Line: Alas, the shark has me, the great shark Last Line: And that, too, the great shark has taken. Subject(s): Sharks | ||||||||
Alas, the shark has me, the great shark, he with the three rows of teeth. All else is gone now, torn by the shark monster, the one with the fire too hot for the deepest sea. When the wili-wili tree blooms it is then his mouth opens. Ah! I am taken by the shark. Sea, oh sea of the rainbows, cup of foam ... what pleasure I took in my dancing! and that, too, the great shark has taken. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SHARKS IN THE RIVERS by ADA LIMON SHARKS AT THE NEW YORK AQUARIUM by CHARLES MARTIN NURSE SHARKS by WILLIAM MATTHEWS ABOUT THE TEETH OF SHARKS by JOHN CIARDI THE SHARK'S PARLOR by JAMES DICKEY PLAGUE OF DEAD SHARKS by ALAN DUGAN |
