NOW, boys, just a moment! you've all had your say While enjoying yourselves in so pleasant a way; We've toasted our sweethearts, our friends, and our wives; We've toasted each other, wishing all merry lives-- Here's to one in a million, the dearest, the best, Like the sun in the heavens, she outshines the rest! Don't frown when I tell you this toast beats all others, But drink one more toast, boys, a toast to "Our Mothers!" | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MY MOTHER'S HANDS by ANDREW HUDGINS CONTINENT'S END by ROBINSON JEFFERS IN THE 25TH YEAR OF MY MOTHER'S DEATH by JUDY JORDAN THE PAIDLIN' WEAN by ALEXANDER ANDERSON BLASTING FROM HEAVEN by PHILIP LEVINE TIS A LITTLE JOURNEY by ANONYMOUS |
