Subject(s): Love;oysters;singing & Singers

You've heard of a Dandy dogs' meat blade
Who did diddle an Old Maid,
And who did her heart trepan,
But now I sing of an Oyster man.
He was a dandy Oyster man,
He was a good-looking Oyster man,
And up and down the streets he ran,
Crying Oysters, did this Oyster man.

An Old Maid with him fell in love
And tried his flinty heart to move,
Says she we'll be married as fast as we can,
Oh that we will, my Oyster man,
Will you have me, my Oyster man?
Oh no, I won't, says the Oyster man,
And then from her he quickly ran,
Crying Oysters, did this Oyster man.

But with such arguments she did prevail,
That to succeed she could not fail,
And the next Sunday morning in a bran'
New gown she was married to the Oyster man.
And now he's a wealthy Oyster man,
And he keeps a lad, does the Oyster man,
And so you see by one simple plan
He has made himself rich, has the Oyster man.
