My Flower of Life bloomed into love and song
That time I met him 'neath an olive-tree;
He was so fair, my love, so fair and strong!
He broke an olive-branch and gave it me.
He gave it me, and bade it be a sign
Of all his love, which henceforth would be mine.
The olive-branch is here, but where is he? ...
My eyes are full of tears. I cannot see.
