OLD MAN'S SONG, by ALEXEY (ALEXIE) VASSILIEVICH KOLTSOV Poet's Biography First Line: I shall saddle my horse Last Line: * | |||
I SHALL saddle my horse, And on my fast horse I shall gallop and fly, Than a hawk more light, Across fields, over sea, To lands far away. I shall summon and find My lost youth again. I'll be strong, I'll be great In the youth once mine. And again I shall please Lovely young maidens. But alas! is no road To what's past recall. Never, never shall rise The sun out of the west! * | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...AN OLD MAN'S SONG by ALEXEY (ALEXIE) VASSILIEVICH KOLTSOV SONG by ALEXEY (ALEXIE) VASSILIEVICH KOLTSOV THE NIGHTINGALE by ALEXEY (ALEXIE) VASSILIEVICH KOLTSOV WOMAN'S SONG by ALEXEY (ALEXIE) VASSILIEVICH KOLTSOV SNOWFLAKES by HENRY WADSWORTH LONGFELLOW THE FAMINE YEAR by JANE FRANCESCA WILDE A POEM, DEDICATED TO WILLIAM LAW, PROFESSOR OF PHILOSOPHY by ROBERT BLAIR TO THE MEMORY OF A FRIEND WHO DIED ON SABBATH MORNING by ELIZABETH BOGART THE MOSS SUPPLICATETH FOR THE POET by RICHARD HENRY DANA (1787-1879) |
