BLUE BOWL, by EMMET PENDLETON First Line: The bowl has very graceful lines Last Line: An incense for a vanished time. Alternate Author Name(s): Pendleton, Robert Emmet Subject(s): Art & Artists | |||
The bowl has very graceful lines And keenly fascinates the eye With wondrous hue, A work of art in crystal glaze Of charming periwinkle blue. The bowl was bought in China's realm From store that is war-riddled now, Bespattered red With blood from fierce destruction's curse, And sad to say -- that clerk is dead. It seems the bowl has human pride To hold its treasured memories, For when sublime With lilies, fragrance truly is An incense for a vanished time. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE OLD AND THE NEW MASTERS by RANDALL JARRELL TO A YOUNG ARTIST by ROBINSON JEFFERS BOATS IN A FOG by ROBINSON JEFFERS ART VS.
