BLUE BOWL, by
First Line: The bowl has very graceful lines
Last Line: An incense for a vanished time.
Alternate Author Name(s): Pendleton, Robert Emmet
Subject(s): Art & Artists

The bowl has very graceful lines
And keenly fascinates the eye
With wondrous hue,
A work of art in crystal glaze
Of charming periwinkle blue.

The bowl was bought in China's realm
From store that is war-riddled now,
Bespattered red
With blood from fierce destruction's curse,
And sad to say -- that clerk is dead.

It seems the bowl has human pride
To hold its treasured memories,
For when sublime
With lilies, fragrance truly is
An incense for a vanished time.
