DAKOTA SPRING, by
First Line: The days are dusty coal men
Last Line: Waltzing to a prairie lullaby.
Subject(s): Prairies; South Dakota; Plains

The days are dusty coal men,
With black faces, shapeless clothes, grimy hands,
Scooping and piling with their wind shovels.

The nights are white ladies,
In moon satin, cloud lace, star pearls,
Waltzing to a prairie lullaby.
