GETHSEMANE, by
First Line: When gethsemane looms near us
Last Line: "not my will but thine be done."
Subject(s): Faith; Gethsemane; Belief; Creed

When Gethsemane looms near us
O Thou Blessed Father's Son,
May we then say to the Father:
"Not my will but Thine be done."

Though the cup be one of anguish,
May we not the sorrow shun,
Rather cry to God contritely:
"Not my will but Thine be done."

In our prayers and supplications,
Selfish pleas may there be none,
But in all may we say, "Father,
Not my will but Thine be done."

Then we'll have God's peace and comfort,
In all plans that are begun,
And we'll sing to Him, our Father:
"Not my will but Thine be done."
